dreambox 7025 complete set-up

I am a Newbie and have posted on the forum to say Hi to everyone and also requesting help with my dreambox. I have waited 3 days for some response and as yet not recieved any, while waiting i have gone through the forums without much joy.. I seriously need your help.

I will start at the beginning.

I have dreambox 7025 DVB-C and DVB-S twin tuners with Enigma PLI-Iolite dated MAy 2008 which i downloaded and installed no probs. I also downloaded evocamd 2.17 which was the only one available from the PLI website. Installed no probs. downloaded dreambox stuff and copied the needed files by FTP to my directory no probs. Activated the emu and chmod to 755 and put onto sky sports one and waited. That was a week ago and still no joy. All this information I got reading through the forums.I must be doing something wrong or placed a file in the wrong place, using wrong evocams etc, I just don't know what to do anymore. Rready to chuck the box as it has got me mad afew times. My previous Box DM500C came with everything installed.

All i can get is FTA channels and that's it.

Could you/V-I-P members please help me, guide me, correct downloads or walk me through the whole process again in laymans terms.

I noticed i do not have the manual install feature in the blue button area too, so i don't know how to install different evocams manually.

I have replaced the folders var and scc from dreambox stuff and overwritten ones in my dreambox directory. Is that right?

Ok you only need to transfer contents from these folders to dreambox these folders are already there only diffrence with pli is there is no usr/scce folder just put your scce contents in usr/k*y and chommod 755 and restart your cam and reboot

Cheers Zaf. I will try this route and see how it goes. Will get back soon as i can ok. Will you be hanging around for abit by the way. Been on nites so got afew hours to hand and very determined to to have this box fully operational as soon as.

Followed instructions to the word,same old story, still not working. read on the forums that evocamd 2.17 does not work properly, i'm beginning to wonder. I am on cable TW if that is any help to ye. Can I change it to a better one that works. Any ideas to which one i should use.

right m8 il just tell you what i know i couldnt get the pli image working i have a 7025 running with gemini 3.7 evocam 2.17 and mgcam 1.3 both work

if you want to try and install gemini give this a go

install evocam and mgcam via ftp to temp then blue button on remote addons/manual install
add the keys to usr/keys and the scce to usr/scce
restart cam (blue button) or restart image channels leave on sky sports 1 should clear

Firstly I have just noticed your new thread you put up and was on the verge to get in touch with you, as i am sharing a similar problem as yours. Seen all your previous posts and you were getting no where just like me.

I'm safe to say that the PLI image is not working with any of the cams available.

Just need a little help/guidence from you if that is ok.

Firstly Do you have a link to the gemini 3.7 image?

ok mate thankyou for the links, much appreciated.

As soon it's downloaded going to flash the box and leave rest to fill in till later as i know what to do from here on in and bed is calling now. Getting a sense there is a light at end of tunnel here. Fingers crossed and will be in touch again very very soon.

Site was down hence the late response.

Just to confirm I am up and running, just like you installed everything as instructed and all channels kicked in first time of asking. HAPPY DAYS. What a challenge this has been but i learnt alot in the process too. BUt everything is a OK bar minor issues.

Acouple of minor things need help with.
Cannot get picons to kick in, i put them in VAT/ETC folder. Nothing!
Is there a mutli epg plugin available? I read a thread that is not working correctly with Gemini images.

As you know I have DVB-C and DVB-S tuners set up. Do you or anybody else reading this thread know how to configure it/set-it-up as such? Much appreciated.

alright m8y glad your sorted if you have your picons in you need to configure them

first of all mine are in ect not var/ectc

to configure you need to go to

blue button/extras/infobar/extrafield

then change to picons

then underneath change picon place to ect/picons reset enigma should be ok

then if you carry on (i dont know if you know) back down the list in extras
bluebutton/extras scroll down the last option is a file browser

this lets you access whats in the files from your remote control so you can see in ect/picons that they are there or your keys are in usr/keys ect

on the satellite side i havent got it up and running yet needs lining up and im not up to it at the minute so will have to wait

but good luck

I see the cock-up i made with the picons. put into right folder and now picons are fully operational. Cheers for that.

I am using Gemini 3.8 with evocamd 2.17 and it is all systems go. No glitches or freezing etc. been on 24hrs without a hiccup whatsoever. Not tried Mgcamd 1.3 as yet.

The only downside I found with 3.8 was no full EPG. Can't have everything heh!! Just chuffed i'm up and running with the extra help after fighting with it for a week. "Can you confirm 3.7 has the full EPG programme" as i mite use this image and save the other. Missus has been great up to now so i little reward won't go amiss.

As of Sat/cable config I can wait for now. Like you I want to chill out for now. But please anybody on this forum with this knowledge on how to do it please post as this thread has the basics to set up dreambox 7025.
