DM500 Green light

I have a DM500 which has a green light but no signal.
I have used a serial cable and flashed it with a number of images but the same thing happens - green light on the box but no signal. The box responds to pings from dreamup and appears to flash ok but then nothing happens.
The box does not respond to the on /off button.
I push the button but the unit does not turn off.
If I unplug the power the light goes off, plug the power in the light comes on.
I have read about Jtag repairs but it seems quite complicated.
Where does one find a cable for instance.

I only ran a scan for new channels and the dm500 crashed, and then continuously rebooted

So I flashed a new DK 1.1 image but no luck, so I tried an erase image and then the DK 1.1 image again, but no luck.

I read somewhere to try a flash erase twice before putting the image on, but that didn't work either.

I am now left with a dreambox which doesn't get detected by the TV or the Router.

But dreamup always detects it.

Use a fresh image then FTP the files over to it.
Probably flashing a corrupt backup image.

Does your dm500 respond to the power button.
I would appreciate it if you let me know if you find a solution.

Take the top of the boxes and make sure the push Connectors are secure
The ribbons are well know for coming loose and rendering the remotes useless

I took the top off and checked the cable and it seems secure.

I decided to write the dm500 box off and buy a new one.

After about 2 weeks working fine I came home today and the second one is gone the same as the first. A green light on the box and nothing else. The problem is not with the remote. If you push the on/off button with your finger nothing happens.

Surely this must have happened to someone else. ?

Can anyone recommend a decent receiver

same problem with one of my boxs

green light only box will not flash with dream up, uploads the boot-loader then say "upload completed waiting for acknowledgement" that's as far as it gets

looks like jtag is needed or return to dvbsellers

try flashing with dreamup and use network unticked....try a few times should recover it.

I also faced the same one, but I restored the backup image via dreamup and it turned out to be okay.

Hi, Altot I'm not from your country but I have the same problem.
The problem is with the power adapter... Yes, its the power adapter. Surprise???
I'm surprise to learn that the power adapter is giving the problem.
I happen to have more than 1 set at home so I tested the spoil set at my other location & it work.

i have same problem and it happened to 4 of my boxes. and i know exactly the situation. this problem was caused by a sudden power down after that when i swtich it on i can hear the sound but no pic i have flashed so many a times but still no pic and same thing happened to 4 of my boxes ca anyone plz help me

Hello All,
I'm facing the same problem I reboot I see only green led on and blue one on (network), but remote doesnt change anything and also no imagem on tv set.
I tried to reflash several times with dreamup, sometime, I got CRC error in end, sometime not, but anyway after reboot the DM is still not responding and no image on tv set, only green led on and blue one one.
Someone could help us to diagnostic this fail?? We need to reflash with jtag solution??
