How do you know nothing is being sent? Do you have an HD receiver?

bbc hd just run promos throughout the day then at night some quite good stuff like blue planet jonathan ross etc.

itv hd would be good for the champions league as the quality / bitrate of itv seems crap at best

ITV HD only seem to broadcast 4 or 5 programmes per week (including some football)
But if it was available you should be seeing a screen with "ITV HD This service is currently Unavailable"

If it is being broadcast then these are the next shceduled shows:
              20/10/08 21.00 Wired
              21/10/08 19.30 Football: Manchester United v Celtic
              25/10/08 23.10 Film: Red Dragon

(Schedule taken from ozsat on DS)

The channel originally existed on a trial basis from June until November 2006, primarily to show the World Cup games to which ITV had the rights.

The channel was available to subscribers of the Telewest "TV Drive" cable service, and was also broadcast as a low-power digital terrestrial (DVB-T) channel from London's Crystal Palace Transmitter as part of a terrestrial HDTV trial involving 450 homes. ITV HD did not broadcast on Satellite TV, unlike BBC HD. It was available on Telewest channel 118 and Freeview channel 503 in homes which were involved in the HD trial.

In addition to the World Cup games, ITV HD showed classic films remastered in HD (such as All Quiet on the Western Front and The Big Sleep), documentaries (such as Jean-Michel Cousteau?s Ocean Adventures) and dramas such as Poirot.

The original ITV HD stopped broadcasting on the 30 November 2006.

ITV-HD is still broadcasting ............ just that theres not much content on it, i've watched it on the odd occasion (usually champions league) using a dvb-s2 card.

I watched the England V Kazakhstan match on it last weekend

ITV HD is available via Sky or Freesat via the Red Button on selected programs such as was mentioned before Champions League.

ITV HD is not available on Sky, it's Freesat exclusive.
The original post was asking about an inactive channel on Virgin, in the cable section of the forum, which as I said is left over from the 2006 trial channel.
