scanning dreambox

Can you give me some advise as I am a novice. I need to rescan my box to locate new channels will this rescan delete or alter my existing channels. I have a dreambox 500c.

Depending on the image you can select to leave current channels/bouquets un touched.
The scan will then leave the current setup un touched,and you can then add any further channels found.
