dream box help needed

I was trying to flash my dreambox but after flashing, i have a feeling the dreambox has been bricked.. its not responding to my controller and there is no picture or soound.. could like if anyone could heklp

Which Model dreambox? and how did you flash? Could be a problem with the image. I'd suggest reflashing using a serial cable.

the problem is i dont have a null cable port. i tried using a usb-rs232 cable. but it wont work..

did you turn off your dreambox .... start the software then turn your box on ... plus check all cabels are in tight. took me a few attempts to flash but worked in the end ps .. i use a usb version on a xp netbook

go SLS to get a new cable, whinning here wont change ur cable to a null modem cable..

you will need a USB > Serial port adapter if your PC doesn't have a COM port.

Printer port Will NOT do.

To flash you dreambox you need 1) a null modem cable 2) a COM (9 pin Serial) port on your PC.

IF you do not have a COM (9 pin Serial) port on your PC you will need to get a USB to 9-pin Serial Adapter to use along with your null modem lead.
