    Dreambox Fried?

Just received my dm500c and had it working fine for the last day. anyhow whilst watching today ive lifted the box up to slide my laptop underneath and had the picture go crazy and freeze.

ive turned the box off and back on, and now not getting any display at all, the power light is coming on the unit but it wont respond to any commands from the remote, nor will it go into standby, the green light just stays lit

seems to me like a hardware fault has occured to the unit, altho not sure how as i only lifted the unit up for a few secs.

more than likely it'll have to go back but just on the off chance has anyone every encountered anything like this before?

        Hi gums,
Simply connect the null cable and Ping the box this well tell you if the box is alive and talking.

try to erase flash by erase file attached ( obtained after decompress )
use dreamup in this like flashing your box with image
then load any image you want

            cheers

what you need to do after you have used dreamup you should know if your box is alive and responding, if it is then do a flash erase and complete the progress and then take the plug out of your dreambox and put it back in and go back to dreamup and this time click on flash and then click on the image you want and flash it to your box then your all done pull the plug back out n then back it and you should have the new image and working box

Is everything intact inside?just moving the box should'nt require a reflash,.
Checkout the RED stickies massive amount of info and effort been put into them.

well looks as tho she's still in the land of the living, managed to ping to the box fine using dream up.

did a flash erase, rebooted the box, then installed DK1.1, rebooted the box again and plugged into tv

am getting the DK splash screen now but its just hanging on there, cant get a menu up or anything? hmmmm?!
