How to kill your dreambox on the first day

ok i think i know what i did wrong, i tried flashing with DCC. as i had to click an option i clicked usb, so when it it reboot i take it its looking for the boot record on usb hence this error appears

    Telnet Connected
    FTP Connected

    Bootmanager: DF 2.3 (supported)
    Mountpoint=/var/mnt/usb (NOT MOUNTED!)
    Active Image=Flash-Image
    Telnet Disconnected
    FTP Disconnected

now i cant connect through dreamup as its always resetting, so turns on then disconnects, dreamup doesnt have a chance to connect to the box as its in use, the question is can this be solved if you cant connect via ethernet cable or null modem cable,

i have read somewhere that you can change the jumper settings like on a motherboard, or do they have a battery inside

either way i need to completely clear the memory in the box (I Think)

i have been using dreambox for well new and havnt got it working yet, so any pros out there know hwat to do, or anyone nr peterborough?

and as this is a clone i guess dream wont sort it for me

any sort of guess would be greatful

i used flashwizard 6.3 (in dreambox forever)

selected ip of dreambox, dropped the img file where it says drop img file

          and flashed it

not exactly sure what i did differant from last time, but this worked and started to updatet he flash, then followed other instructions i had found on this site and bobs ya uncle,

didnt even need my null cable although it was connected at the same time, im sure theres some pros on here that know what i did, as i thought i had screwed it, i thought anything was worth a try,

ok now back to newbie questions as i dont have a clue about these things but always nice to go wrong on your first attempt as you know what to do later, still of prefered not to go though with the stress tho

anyway im done, thanks ofr all you help folks, just thought i would mention this one as i never found this answer anywhere

still not quite sure what went wrong but i think i will take a breather and leave it till i have to flash, again thanks all at DK
