Hey sorry Ive never used Forums b4 so dont really know how to search them if this question has come up.

Bascialy I got my Dreambox 500c, I have successfully flashed it using dreamup with DK v1.1.

I have it connected to my router via Ethernet cable (my PC is also connected to the router via an Ethernet cable) I have also reserved the Dreambox MAC address with the IP address 192.168.1.10 as I read something about conflicts.

The Dreambox appears in my "attached devices" list on the router table with the IP I have reserved for it (192.168.1.10).

I have used FlashFXP and DCC to try FTP to it so I can upload the keys I have (I assume they are needed to view other channals than FTV ones) But However when I connect to it using FlashFXP it takes for ever to load, is sooo slow literaly cannot upload a 2kb key, then the connection is lost. When I use DCC its slow and looses connection, when I ping it only gets 50% reply max.

So I guess my question is why is it so slow? directly connected to my router and my comp is also directly connected to my router.

In summary:
Model : dm-500c
Firemware: dk v1.1
IP : Assigned via DCHP 192.168.1.10

oh and windows firewall is off

connect it direct via a crossover cable
Assign your network one below your dream box
And disable DHCP.............Paul

Just tried that but still no luck, pretyt much same outcome :-( ping still at 50%. FTP when successful was to slow to do anything with :-s

Heres the settings I had

PC IP: 192.168.0.23
Dreambox IP: 192.168.0.24 (DHCP switched off)
Subnet: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 192.168.0.1

ahh this is so frustrating, does anyone know why its so slow? and un responsieve? does anyone has this same issue?. It cant be the NIC of the PC or dreambox or cable as the slight ping and slow FTP shows it connected.....

yea I assume so

Pass: dreambox

Like I said it does FTP sometimes, but very very very slow. its something to do with the speed as when i ping in command promt it hardly replys (like only 2 out of 4 requests max)

If anyone can tell me why this is and how to fix it would be great

I just tried a m8s dreambox dm500c on my network same set up as b4 and this one connects instantly and tranfers files over FTP instantly. So its something wrong wiht my dreambox...knew i shouldnt have got it off ebay.

anyway I have made a fireware backup image of my m8s working 1 using telenet and FTP'd it to my PC. later I will put it on my not working one using dreamup and see if that works.
