what do i do????????????

i'm all new to this and what do i do???????i used to have a perfectly good box and it gave me all the channels that were there,one of my friends sent it back to it's facory resets,and now i only get virgin 1,ewtn,film 4,setanta ireland,uktv style and rte1,the rest have a only a black screen.i've try'd retuning and rebooting and restarting the enigma but no joy.and i've ordered myself a null modem cable but i'll still be waiting 2 weeks for that to come.internet shoping takes soooooo long to deliver.very cheap though.would i need anew image????and if so would i better off with a new dw2.0 image????where could i download one???????or would the dk1.0 be better???or is it possable i just need keys seeing as some channals are there????i could really do with some help and advise.

I would start off by reading in here Cable Dreambox You will need to learn how to FTP into your box so reading a guide like using flash FXP would be good. Use the search option for keys and roms when you get them you will need to FTP them into the box and Bobs your uncles maiden aunt

what box you got

i've a linux box,looks exactly the same as the black linux box advertised on this site but its silver,it's an inet but i seem to see the same box advertised everywhere but with different names on it.
i'm very new to this so i'm trying to get as much info as i can,but why do i neeed an image??what does the image do,if its the keys you really need
