DB500c Play AVI files from NAS

Hi All, Got a 500c recently and set it up, it's now working fine and dandy with Digital Kaos v1.1 (thanks devilfish for the Idiots Guide).
Just want to see what else I can do with the dreambox. Bought a NAS drive recently and want to know if I can play AVI files from it using the dreambox.

    So to the point,
    -Is it possible?
-And how would I go about doing it? (Has anyone else tried it?)

Best you can do mate is convert the avi to mpeg2 format and it will play on your dreambox no problem.

Check the stickys for a guide on how to set it up.

Also in downloads section i uploaded a program that converts no problem.

      Cheers!

I'll give that a go so.

What sort of filesize are you talking for an average MPEG2 film?

An AVI would normally double in size to mog depending on the output setting you choose.

          Hmmm...

Starting to think converting all my AVI's is gonna be a biatch and take loads of time. I'll have a look around and see if I can get the AVI thing going. I'll post back if something works.
