    DM600 which IDE cable for a 600c ?.

i asked this question before and it was the wrong one so can someone please post a link as to which IDE cable i need for a 600C ?.
im trying to install an 120GB IDE HD , both HD and the IDE mobo socket are the smaller 2.5" type.
the one someone told me to buy was a 3.5" to 2.5" with a 4 pin power supply attached.

Im waiting on my dm600c getting delivered from china...and asked on the forum if a 80gb 2.5 IDE hard drive would be ok to install..i was assuming the IDE cable would be attached in the box for this just to connect are you saying it's not?

Forget above...just checked with DVB Monkey, IDE cable is supplied

    cheers

      Hi
Try putting this into the popular auction site, ?3.99+postage, it sound like the one you need 2.5 to 2.5, feeds power also. Make sure you connect it right.

in the legit dm600 the cable is all ready in there not sure about the clone
if the clone board inside is exactly the same the cable ribbon port/ide is under the tuner
so i guess the ribbon is in there on the clone
but DONT QUOTE ME ON THAT

i just search fleabay 470 items 10 pages and i cant see a 2.5" to 2.5" IDE cable with 4 pin power.the only one's i can see is the one i got which is a 2.5 to 3.5 and is wrong.
          i did find a standard 2.5 to 2.5 outside fleabay but no power.anyone any idea's ?.

P.S. (forgot to ask ) does the cable needed have a small 4 pin plug attached to the IDE cable ? or is it a bog standard 2.5 to 2.5 ?.cant beleive such a simple item would be so hard to find !!.

Yup agree with Smoggie and Westkill, no power cable required for a 2.5" drive powered off the bus in the DM600. But mine is not a clone and came with the cable.

Besides which, these four extra pins are not for power, you put jumpers on them to tell the drive if it is a master, slave or Cable select in certain machines, but you would not normally need to do this. Scsi jumpers are the best to use if you ever get in that situation though..

                Hi
You don't read the post correctly, there is only the one item for that search field that I posted (2.5" laptop hard drive IDE extension ribbon cable UK) Item No 220297039797 and it feeds the power also like I said.
Read it again carefully. I can't stand it when I help people by finding or suggesting things and they don't follow the help given.

                    Hi
Never mind as long as you found it, but all you needed to do was copy the line from my post and paste it into fleabay, i'm sure you know what you need now and will soon be sorted.
