on Dreambox 500c - No Bootmanager, is that a problem?

after having a few probs, i finally got mine working only if by fluke, but when i use DCC and connects is says bootmanger not found, its this a problem, oh and i cant use my null cable, wont connect could this be why?

The dcc program cannot find the bootmanager.

This is not a problem.

There may be a good reason why your null modem wotn connect you may have to select a diffrerent com port and make sure use network is unticked when using the dreamup program.

theres only one com port on my motherboard, cable is brand new.

unsure what the problem might be

Might be that the cable you have isnt a null modem cable.

There is different wiring in the 9pin serial cables eben though they look the same.

Hi there,

I think I messed up my DM500s. It had Gemini image installed when I bought it. I could see all the FTA channels. After reading this forum I thought I would upgrade to "NiabloSat 0.8V MaxVar" image so I downloaded it and flashed it. After flashing, Connected DB back to TV but now I can't see anything apart from black screen. It seems like it doesn't boot up.

Before installing "NiabloSat 0.8V MaxVar" on my DM500s, via DCC 2.93, I backed up all the folders via FTP, for eg. automount, bin, dev...var folders (does this mean that they system is backed up?

If the answer to above is "YES" then why can't I restore it back to my Gemini image. I don't get that option.

Also in DCC, now DM doesn't connect, I keep getting "Error 10057 in function Send Socket is not connected" error messages.

I don't know what to do now? Does it mean, my DM box is useless now?
