DM500 help - flashed but cant get a lock

I recently got a Envision Super Dreambox, i finally managed to flash it with with Dream-multimedia-tv image file after 5 days of playing around with this thing. When i try to do a scan though im still not having any luck getting a lock on any of the transponders, i have no idea where i should go from here. We do have a subscription to VM, internet, phone and basic tv package.

The about tab shows the following info if it helps:

    Dream-Multimeia-TV
    DM500
    Processor: STBx25xx. 252Mhz
    Frontend: Cable

    Software Version:
    release 1.0.9. 03.08.2006

any help is much appreciated, im at a complete loss as to what to do next!
