    6 way splitter ok?

Hi, I just bought a 6 way splitter from B&Q as they had no 2 way ones left.

Will this be ok still? I only want 2 outputs.

just wondered if it decreases the signal having 6 outputs even though i'm only connecting 2.

    Cheers

Will be fine. The signal will only weaken as per how many recievers are attached to the splitter.

Unfortunately you will still suffer some signal loss, try get your hands on some 75ohm caps to screw onto the unused ports, signal will leak out of the un-terminated ports.
or better still get yourself a two way splitter, splitters are great in one respect and a nightmare in many others, they increase attenuation and un-terminated ports cause higher SNR.

Very interesting info, I will try and remember that as I have some caps (in a bag somehwere not on the spiltter) but never saw why they would be used other than to stop the end getting dirty or damaged etc..
