can't find channels

hi , i've just bought a dreambox and i'm setting up for the first time , plugged everything in correctly , but when i do a scan it won't pick up any channels , no matter which option i select to scan ! can anyone help , cheers

Make sure to scan on the right sym rate 6952.

gave it a go and still nothing , i really don't know where i'm going wrong , can somebody help ?

you could try getting hold of a cables.xml file that includes a "bruteforce" setting.

It'll depend on the image you're using. Just download and copy it into /var/tuxbox/enigma.

These things can get a bit frustrating but best to take a breather for 5 mins before getting stuck in :-)

Have you got a cable subscription to VM or if not did you check to see if the cable is live?

i subscribe to virgin media , have the kaos image , tried to scan on all symbol rates and also tried a bruteforce scan , but it won't lock onto anything or bring any channels up , my dbox works fine so it's not the signal , could i try another image ?

i guess you are running it of a splitter is with your modem and dreambox
if it is connect it to the main feed and do a scan and then check the cable
