    500c started freezing

    Hi,
Newbie here, need some advice please!
My 500c has been working fine but now has started to freeze on premium channels. If I change channels and go back to the original it reloads and is viewable for about 10mins, until it freezes again.
Do I need to update my image? or is my dreambox on its way out.

    Thanks

    try a different cam

could be a tuner problem also, is it a screw on tuner or push in ?

could also be if you have a splitter after a splitter, or even if many people in your street are on cable and you are last in the line.

    what image you using ?

first try a different image, and then different cams, if it still does the same try a Signal booster.

what is your BER and your SNR, you should be getting about 94%

      HI,
I am using DW2.1 image with Evocam 2.12, screw in tuner from booster with no splitter.
SNR is 95% but BER is 0!! is this the problem.

you getting 95% on a channel that goes dodgy, because that is a perfect signal.

yo could try a different cam, but ive always found that evocamd2.12 is spot on, on a 500. But some peeps prefer different cams.

this might sound a bit daft, but can you make sure your scart to TV is pushed right in .... both ends.

Too strong a signal can also cause freezing.

If you're not using any splitters, you generally don't need a booster.

            Even try an attenuator.

Sorted. I had the booster for an old 500c I got a new 500c and connected to current set up. Just taken the booster out of the loop and its stopped freezing. Obviously this is an original 500c and the old one was a clone!!
                Thanks for the advice.

no the one you had connected to the booster would prob be an original and the new screw one will be a clone ,cause they stopped making 500c ages ago so any one you buy now will most defo be a clone
