DM800 'C' Setup problems (yet again)

I am pretty sure I have read through every post on the 'net relating to this box but I'm happy for someone to point me in the right direction.

    Image: gemini2-350-dm800 (200805192241)

used the brute force cables.xml from the Downloads section to locate channel

dropped the keys and 'scce' in from Dreambox Stuff into the relevant folders.

Fire up the box, find all the channels but get only the FTAs.

SS1 -> SS2 -> SS1 / wait / get bored of waiting and go to bed.... Still no joy!

It's driving me mad so any help would be appreciative.

you will need to install a cam , not sure which one is best for the 800, but you can search on here.

evocamd will do, but not sure which version is best

download the file from the thereds post ,then ftp it to the temp folder do a manual install
delete the keys and scce folders in usr and var
then ftp the key and scee folders to usr/ not var, reboot the box then activate mgcamd via the blue panel and see what happends

Cheers for the info so far.

I now have the evocam2 2.17 installed and running. I must still be missing something as still SS1 is a blank screen with no sound.

The keys are in usr/keys and I have chmodded them to 755 to be sage
The scce folder is also in usr/ and is also chmodded to 755.

Westkill I assume when you said 'activate mgcamd via the blue panel' you meant evocam as there is no mgccamd command / option / sub menu item I can find.

Anything else I could have overlooked?

restart cam, on ss1, and wiat about 2 mins, then change to ss2, then back to ss1.

in your var\keys folder you should have a file called softcam.key , right click on it and choose edit.

now send me a PM of what you can see, DONT post it in here .

I am going out for a couple of hours and i will look when i get back

Singularly. There are 10 files in there.

Looks like it was an issue with the keys I had - although not having a cam was also a problem.

Cheers to everyone for their input in helping me resolve my problems.

                    Happy days!
