DM500 watching dreambox on laptop

i have my dreambox hooked up to my router and can message to the box and change stations from my laptop but cannot actually watch it on my laptop, i click zap and then web x but it dont show up on the laptop, any ideas, i'm usin firefox, cheers

You need to download and install the latest vlc client onto your pc.

even then its hit and miss. the 500 isnt renowned for its streaming

what about the 600 is that much better, was thinkin about maybe buyin one, are there many more benefits from this model??

The dm600 is twice as expensive as the dm500 but it is a pvr box as it can take an ide drive and the tuner is much much better than the dm500. It is worth the extra money compared to the dm500.

I agree with Curious as usual, the 600 is far better and more versalite...

very similiar mate i would say, its a different image to the 500 though. I use a PLi Iolite image on my and its bullet proof (so far). If you go for a DM600 we will get you up and running..
