D500C OR D500S Which of these boxes give you more channels cable or sat?

The DM500S gives you about a 100 times as many channels as cable but I remember how much trouble you had with cable so I would seriously research your box before you go out and buy a satellite box.

      Hi there harry

A mutlitude of answers here.I believe cable gives you the most choices of channels as saterlitte is not completely cracked. Sayinig that, if you have a valid s*y uk subscription card then the choice may differ. I maybe wrong.

Harry m8 I have seen some of your posts since you got your cable sorted and realise you have learnt a lot but satellite is a completely different kettle of fish even for experienced cable users. I have cable and satellite in my house and if I really wanted to I could probably now do without cable altogather but the wife finds the remote for the sat too complicated so I have not bothered to remove cable. Just advising you to proceed with caution rather than trying to dissuade you from following into the satellite scene.

The satellite scene is more experimental. With cable you have a set amount of channels which all open but on satellites you get new sats, channels, new encryptions, new packages, hacks and headaches.
Now make your choice. I found cable boring. Its not for experimenters. My sat box is doing the best.

as people have explained to a sat set up , there's alot more to it than a straight forward flash box and scan.it all depends what you trying to watch.setting up a satelite system is not for the faint hearted especially a motorised system.
i tried to set up a motorised system and ended up calling out a sat fitter to sort it out.
when all said and done i would ask yourself this ;- what extra channels or which stations do i wanna pick up ? this will determine of you need a cable or sat set up.
money wise a cable 500c is roughly ?80 a sat set up is double then if you dont know how then a satman to install which could be anything form ?50 to ?100 .it took me roughly 6 month to get to grips with a dm7020 on a motoised set up so bare that in mind.

Have to agree with Westkill, the toughest part is getting your dish installed. Without the proper alignment on the dish you are just flogging a dead horse. I have got my dish at the bottom of the garden on top of a 6 foot scaffolding pole.

                      Hi : DM500S
Sadiq999uk has put it in a nut shell, Sat has a lot more available channels, but you really need to know which encryptions are hacked and
which Satellites the hacked channels are on. Then decide if its for you.

Google 'Lyngsat' for Sat listings and encryptions.

curious that was a pain the arse to line upi was sat on the handrail of the balcony in the end with a compass pointing it southwith the remote in the other hand pointinting it through the window to scan 1w
then tightend those nuts up and it worked
                          if i had a garden i would have a 3m dish

This is a bit off topic but I remember your dish hanging out of the balcony so thought you might like to see how mine was set up until about 3 months ago.
