Dreambox 7020si help with softcams

Please help!

I've got a dreambox 7020si and want to use it to watch cable.
All I can see resembling a channel scan is the satellite setup /scan.

Have I got the correct equipment?

I've stumbled across the softcam notion but really don't know where to start, e.g. where to download sw etc.

Can somebody help a newbie in distress!?!

it would need a cable tuner m8 yours is a satellite box

its not possible the 7020si dose not make a cable tunner they are sat only

Any ideas what model Dreambox to go for?
I'm only really interested in SD cable channels but PVR would be good aswell.

i have a 7025 with sat and cable tuner good box record 1 and watch another or record 2

you can pick the tuner config you like ie cable/sat c/c c/t s/t s/s

or a Dreambox 600PVR would be a cheaper alternative.

I've actually got a sky mini-dish on the wall with a bog-standard LNB.
Could I hypothetically use the Dreambox to decrypt SBO and Sports etc without any fancy cams or cards before giving the box up to ebay?

Hello again guys
I've gone and installed CCcam2.0.9 on the Darkstar II image with the captain's file (as per the tutorial available under DK downloads section). I don't know what to do next? I can't see the CCcam listed on the blue menu and don't know where to start regarding card sharing or what the going rate is etc.
I'd really appreciate some more help but feel guilty because I bet you get this all the time!!

I've found the yellow menu and now installed CCcam 2.0.10 and updated the keys via onscreen option but now I can't even get FTA stuff from 28.2 like Cbeebies. Is this card sharing? If not can somebody help me get started?
