      Hi all,

I use a program called iDreamX 1.3 for all my dreambox needs.
      It is a fantastic program!

      It has:
      telnet interface
      FTP interface
      Bouquet management
      EPG interface
      Recording via VLC

It is a great all in one application.

I really recommend it to anyone who has a mac!

Heres how I flashed my box on a Mac

Corky what you do is ..go to your network settings within the system preferences and take note of the IP and network settings.

Then boot the DB and go to the expert settings - communication setup. Copy the settings from your IP settings on your Mac to the DB, but change the last digit of the IP (for example if your router IP is 192.168.1.4, just change the DB IP to 192.168.1.5. All the other settings will be the same.

Connect the router to DB via a crossover cable and connect the router to your mac using the standard ethernet cable.

          Then follow the Telnet sticky.

BTW...I have found this far better then using iDreamX

I too have found iDreamX really good. Two other programs you may want to checkout are DreamXman and MPEG streamclip. The latter is primarily a media player/ converter but has an "Enigma" menu item looks like lets you control, record, flash your box. I wish I could give you more comprehensive info but my dodgy 500 finally gave up the ghost just as I was beginning to experiment.

Middlewingnut : Please post your program, If I get my box up (or if Santa really good to me) I'd love to try it

                iDreamX login issues

I'm unable to logon to the dm via iDreamX.. fully able through firefox, but iDreamX doesn't seem to find the DM:

"iDreamX cannot run without a DreamBox - please make sure you have connected the DM password, ip, login and port correctly"..

I'm certain the ip is correct and the root/dreambox is the login I'm being told? Port 80 is set as a default, but I don't know why this is/isn't correct...

Any hints or pointers are appreciated

Think a Mac sticky would be great, or even section. Too much? Nowhere else has a mac dreambox section.
