    DM500 Communication setup problems

    Hello!

    I got a DM500c a day ago, and I'm preparing it for use. I have one problem with it though, it doesn't seem to connect to my router, I have tried DHCP and without and still nothing.

    I have followed the "How to" guides and it still doesn't give any network connection.

    Also, I haven't flashed it yet, could this be the problem?
    If so, what image is good?

      Have you got DHCP enabled in the box settings ? What image have you got on it now ? There are lots of images available in ou downloads section to try

          it could ur rounter problem too.. maybe ur router block the connection?

              I had the DHCP enabled until I noticed that it gave the wrong settings. Then I disabled it and tried some other settings but still nothing.

              When DHCP enabled it gave me the wrong nameserver, gateway, ip-adress and subnet mask.

              The image I'm using is the one which came with the dreambox, the original one.

              Could be, but I got DM600c and that one is working without any problems. Must be something I'm missing.

              EDIT: Regarding the download section, since I don't get any internet on it, I don't get a download section on it either.

                  1) setup - expert setup - network
                  2) disable DCHP
                  3) input a address 192.168.1.2
                  4) 255.255.255.0
                  5) 192.168.1.1
                  6) 192.168.1.1
                  When done the above, save and ftp your 192.168.1.2 with root and dreambox, it should be ok

                      dreambox 500 connection problem

                      Hi,i have similar problem,Cannot connect to get addons.when i set up my box dm500
                      i have pinged these with the command promt and all came back ok.
                      ip 192.168.0.4
                      netmast 255.255.255.0
                      type LAN
                      nameserver 192.168.0.1
                      gateway 192.168.0.1
                      DHCP unticked
                      i am running evolution2.5 image,i have tried a few different but still carnt get to addon when i set up the box
                      router is netgear on virgin.
                      laptop is connected via wifi and connects to dm box ok.
                      dm box is connected to router with ethernet.
