no null cable...is there anyway elese to flash a dm500

i have been searching all my local stores (comet, maplins, pc world and a few others) no1 seem to know what im talkin about when i ask for a null modem cable or cross over seril cable....i have successfully ftp to the box...is there any other way to flash the box

If you've been successful with ftp then you can telnet into the box and flash that way.

During my (admittedly short) time playing with Dreambox I've found the only surefire way
to flash has been serial cable. As others have said the leads pretty easy to get, here's a link to item on Maplin site, you could print it out and take to the shop with you.

Serial Null Modem 9-Pin Female to 9-Pin Female > Maplin

iv jus found the null cable on the internet.....now starts the long wait for delivery

u can flash ur box with a crossover cable using flash wizard pro which u can find in downloads.Cable can be got in maplin or pc world...it looks exact as the serial.I would NOT advice u to use serial as the flash freezes sometimes when u use this cable,and then u`ll defo will need a null modem.
