      Hi I have done a manual scan and it comes up with the same error.
      When this is scanning is it trying to read the cables.xml file?

      I have selected manual scan
      type of scan = single transponder
      frequency = 466
      Inversion = auto
      symbol rate = 06900
      Modulation = 64-QAM
      FEC = Auto
      Network scan = no

      The above are defaulted onto the menu.

          I am With Cable Telewest, Liverpool. I have now manged to get the dream box to read the cable.xml file, and import the services or TV cable channels.
          But i do not have channel such as sky sports etc.
          On some chanels the system reports a message "no SID found in PAT".
          whatever that means.

          Any answers wholley welcome.

            i dont have a dm800 but it should be like this i think
            are you doing a manual like this
            i think for liverpool in manual scan settins

            type of scan >single transponder

            frequency > 571 or 411

            inversion > auto

            symbol rate > 6952

            modulation > 64 qam

            fec > auto

            network scan > yes

            you might have this option

            clear before scan > no

            free only > no

            you should receive some thing like 400 + dervices

            press tv at the bottom then the red button then all your channels should be there

              no sid found in pat should mean the channel has moved or changed transponder or something i think

                Hi Thanks for your help on this.
                I have done as you have suggested and the settings i had are different to what youn have listed i have gone from your list and it still the same.

                I did change the frequency to 571 and 411. It still has not tuned in Sky sports
                channels. I am new to this so just still trying to get my head round it.

                    Also try changing from "single transponder" to complete scan. This will run through the complete frequency range in 1000kHz steps, find appropriate nodes then scan those for channels !!

                    before doing this, make sure that 6952 is one of the additional frequencies in the "Tuner Configuration" menu.

                    Good luck.
