dreambox 500-c not working HELP!!!!

hi people

i have a dm500-c.

i have recently lost all my chanell so i tried to do something last night with ftp it asked me to rename the file to root.cramfs i done that and it seemed to do an update on the box, but i now have a serious problem the box just does not respond it turns on and comes up just a plain black screen there is no start up screen and the remote controll does not work either.

i have read threads telling me i need a null modem cable and dreamup i now have those but i need a image to use.

can anybody give me step by step instructions as i am a complete newbie to this and know nothing ?

Hi, I have a Dreamboc 500C cable reciever, all my channels are gone, i think i have been hit by the N3. does anyone know a fix or an image file i can use.

Have you 2 above got any channels (ie 1234 and 5)
If so wot ares you in
If in an n3 area they may be gone for good
If not try a rescan or diff image ............Paul
