800C to 800S???

Just bought a DM800C and was gonna buy a 'S' tuner to try a bit of sharing then I found this site.

Can anyone tell me what it can be expected to do in its present form?

depends were you live mate , virgin are in the process of upgrading there encryption to nagra 3 , which is not hackable , most areas have switched already , the rest of the uk to follow on a region by region basis , when nagra 3 is in your area , your dm800c will only show channels 1 to 5

a dm800S will open more doors , however the method used to decrypt the channels is forbidden for discussion on this forum , google "cardsharing" for info

Yes , its possible , but not a great deal of info published yet , some new cable boxes come with a "gift" 12 month connection, pre-configured
