DM500 power adapter and remote queries

I need to replace the power adapter which has blown. Do i have to get an adapter specifically designed for DM500? or can i use any 12v adapter?

Also the DM500 remotes are very flimsy and the graphics on remote quickly wear out. Is it possible to use one of those programmable remotes for the 500c? If so, which one is best?

You can use any adapter so long as the output voltage and amps are at least as much as the one you are wishing to replace, the other factor is obviously the jack plug, this must be the same as well.

As for the remotes, replacements appear to be ?15 on ebay. The decent programmable ones are about the same but will horrible i reckon as your button could be all over the place... I would stick with a DM remote for sure...
