What is cable dreambox?

Now that N3 has swept the country I'm looking doomed at only 5 channels ! I heard about cs of sat boxes, stupid question but what is cable dreambox? Is it cs for cable ? does it work after N3? Can someone please point me a a good bit of reading about wats it is. Thankz

dust gathering on dreambox

can't help you too much. i was told by a friend to buy a dmbox500c cos my old d box got hit a couple of channels everynight once we got the vermin N3 card from the nosey postman,the box was supposed to be all singing all dancing box,it has done absolutely sweetfa.I haven't sussed it out yet,it has sat in front of the telly for about three months gathering dust,dont know if it will ever work,i only really wanted it for the football.so far not a good investment.some friend.

Cable dreambox is just a dreambox for use on cable, as opposed to a Sat dreambox.

It has nothing to do with cs.

For info on cs use google....

Or search the forum for cs -- some guys have posted some good basic stuff that will help u understand how it works but u cannot go into detail on the forum mate.

Contrary to some of the posts above I would suggest you hold on to your Dreambox and don't give up hope. The Dreambox is a linux box and therefore when the CS route becomes available (which it will) this box will be very handy.
To watch TV now you will need a a good commercial CS box. Of the ones available there is only one real choice, the Kryptview A780.
I would avoid the Starviews.
