guess what you mean is to have an app running on DB to connect to KV servers and get the codes so you can continue watching channels on db.

i haven't worked with any of these boxes - or cable boxes in general - but you can analyse data packets sent/rxed from kv if the comms between kv and server is not encrypted.

also, i doubt if they've hacked the encryption itself, i guess they have a box somewhere in the uk with full tv package which just uploads cws to their server.

what concerns me is this might be a trick so more ppl buy these boxes and in time thy might start chargin us to use their servers.

I reckon once they have sold enough boxes they will release an open firmware that allows you to add your own server details. I think it will be too much hastle to keep providing the server.

Sorry to bring this thread back again ( I've been away ) but surely the kv team who sell the receivers only allow the mac address of each receiver to login to the kv server.

What I want to kow is, is the receiver connecting to the kv server using VPN or like wise.

So we have VPN firmware on the reciver and VPN on the kv linux server thus making it hard for vm,FACT or anyone else seeing what data packets are being sent.

For me I would not use one even if it was given to me, you might as well stand outside your house hold a big board saying I have a illegal cable box !

Those of you who saw the news this week would have seen all those people who had their details released for file sharing ~~~~. Well file sharing cable tv data is no different. The only saving grace is that VM have said they will not investigate any internet user unless order to by a court.

Whst i found out is card sharing cable doesnt need to be as difficult as lots of peeps are making out.I'm think people are just copying and pastinbg stuff about rsa keays etc when they actually dont know much about it. Anyway subject not allowed on here but having a really good look around and you will see what I mean

wizard, i had a look at the 780A, see the people who cracked open the software was from Tunisia (think they also used tunisiasat forums), they regularly posted the on al7bar-soft.com switching the server to free Euro servers as the orginal company stopped servering it customers, unfortunately the forum (al7bar-soft.com) was heavily spammed (3-4 years ago), since them they have cleaned up the forum leaving no trace of the original posting.

the original software owners are fortecstar.

Well iv been reading your posts and want to say thanks for answering my questions, lets say people do want to go down the route of doing self card sharing, Like through there own LAN

i hope im not breaking any rules here, lets say a person has a dm500 and a ligit card and anouther dm500 all conneted to your network, how do they go around setting up server client,

i know you edit c-lines in a config file is this enough to get up and running,

Or does cable need more like keys to pair box & card?

i have started to look threw the st chip now..! just taken it out took a dump.. the password and username to log into server is there also the ftp address,that it connects to for n3,,

this can be implemented so any box can be used, the rsa key is held in the flash .. and software called NTLwizard Is what you require to get it out your box,!

somehow i dont think theres a program called ntl wizard which does as you say as you gotta look for the keys manually unless you know somebody which knows the address of the keys then jkeys would work just as good

rqcs is the best server ive seen for n3 yet

put the work in and it will pay off belive me all the info is about you just gotta use it n3 is being shared all over the uk by many people now

Just been reading a few interesting posts, been out of the scene for a while so not as clued up on things as i was. Looking for a few pointers to maybe get myself a "ticket". dont mind getting my hands dirty, just a shove in the right direction, i believe there are a few taboo subjects these days so PMs would be more than welcome. Can still navigate my way round a dreambox etc, more where i should start looking for my "numbers", still have a box full of my old kit and not afraid of a soldering iron.
