can i adjust BER (lower it ) signal

I got myself a Yellow brick , and connected it to my dm500c , adjusted it the best i could , scanned and i now pick up Sly1 , but it keeps freezing and the BER for this channel is very high , is there any way i can lower this ???
Or is it just tough , as this is the signal TW are transmitting ???
Also what's the best way to adjust these Yellow bricks ?? (I have the 3 controller version ) , how can i find the signal levels out and adjust these ???
What are the optimal setting for CATV ??
    Is it ..
    100% SNR
    50% AGC
    0% BER , i just don't know

    Thank You

You can't lower the BER directly, it's just a measurement. You can adjust the AGC and SNR which in turn will adjust the BER.

A too strong signal will have the same effect as a weak signal.

100% SNR seems too high for me. Adjust the brick so that it's about 96% and the AGC is about 35%-45%. That should stop your freezing and still keep it high enough to get all the channels.

What's the best why to adjust the signal ? I mean is it best to just put the cable box on a certain channel , and use the info button to find out the signals , you adjust it from the automatic transponder scan , and adjust from there ???
I'm very new to i this adjust signals

I meant use the adjustment knobs on the yellow brick to change the strength of the signal going to the box.

You can see the signal in the "Setup > Information > Stream Info" page.

Can a yellow brick be used on a DVB-T (Chorus MMDS) signal as well as DVB-C ?

I've adjusted the levels to a nice level , Sly one is the worst and that has a BER of 500-1000 , but every 5-10 minutes it freezes (only Sly One) , and BER is at the 650000000 , if i turn over and then back it works again for a little bit (BER back at 500-1000) ..
what could be causing this ????

Signal strength is the only factor. You just gotta get the happy medium. Keep turning it down until the BER is 0. If the channel goes away, you've turned it down too much.

Of course it could be a hardware problem, poor quality components used, heating up when in use for a while, etc.
