          its that command "eraseall" i heard with the chinese boxes its spelt worng or sometihng so the cmd line you use to retore a backup.img doesnt work.
          is there a way i can drop it in via ftp to the tmp folder ? if so were do i go using the remote to restore it ?.

            yeah i followed the guide you linked to same result ;- i copy/paste

            "cd /tmp && eraseall /dev/mtd/3 && cp backup.img /dev/mtd/3 && reboot"

            then i get this

            "-sh: eraseall: not found"
            (no quotes)

            so it seems the eraseall cmd is not right for a dm600.if anyone knows how to restore a backup.img please let us know how.

              just as a thought , is it possible to ftp the image across and use the "backup/restore" section in setup to re-install my image ?.i've tried to put it in a few diff folders but all's i get in restore dreambox section is
              restore devise - internal harddisk
              what to restore - all
              i would have thought i could restore somehow by ftping my image over.

                I have never come across an .img file for the dm600 in fact I think using one may even damage your box as they look like they are only used for the dm500. After the problems you have had you might be better off starting from scratch.

                  Try flashing with Devilfish's backup 600 image

                  Code:
                  http://rapidshare.com/files/170257909/backup.img
