posted this in earlier thread then had to go out dont know if it was working earlier from some posts but it works fine now taken from chatterbox


this is only for people who need the latest keys if your box is updating you will not need

just a couple of observations i have noticed since i put this on this afternoon i have had over 200 d/loads and counting

when you take into account devilfish has added the same file and has had as many if not more downloads

it all adds up to a hell of a lot of boxes nicking cable

the other i noticed that in over 200 downloads and probably the same for devilfish and looking at his post there is a distinct lack of gratitude

not one thank you now i dont mind helping people and i have had a fair bit myself but i find it a bit rude when people just take what they want and run

i have always been grateful to devilfish and everyone else who has helped me on this forum and think that people should not just try and use this site for what they need and run

To true mate but you cant beg people to thank you. You will always get the freeloaders who only want one thing.

Just look at how many members joined in 4 hours then you;ll know. At least we do have the members that do stick on at the site and have the respect for the members who put the effort in.

All that said there a lot of members out there who like myself a while back knew very little about the boxes but in time will be able to contribute as much info as the more experienced members do in the near future.

All part of the forum process i think.

can I ask were you put this file ? a mate has rang me saying his dm600 has gone off.

There you go mate, good work... My box is fine though (so far) and therefore have have not needed to apply this fix yet, but i may have to soon. There are some of us who appreciate the effort...

he needs a proggy like dcc the he will have to go into his softcam file press edit and copy the new keys over his existing ones then re start the cam should be okay

if he is using evocam i think the file is called keylist text


just to add its not just about gratitude i have had a look at cjscotts comments on new members in the last couple of hours its unreal will they all stay in the community i doubt it

i just think people should be a bit more curteous and stick around and not just use the forum just cos there box is broke it seems the people who appreciate things are the ones who stick around i mean look at the replies i have now funnily enough from decent members not fly by night

Well, just home and mine is dicked as well so will need your stuff after all mate.. Just got FTA channels showing, all other have the channel info etc but no video..

You will need to ftp them in or if your using dk1.1 image then you can tux them over with remote by pressing the blue button the going to tux commander. And selecting var/keys/keylist.txt

All the info you need on how to ftp is on the site.

I agree with donnie, its just one of those things and we will have to put up with it, it can be a good thing too, the majority will come and piss off after its fixed but some will stick around which is good for the forum. This forums member numbers swelled the last time it happened and we benefitted by gaining some good members, I imagine it will be the same this time.

just a point to your comment which is possibly true and i may fit in that category. But i did thank devilfish heaps when i eventually got up and running. Now that eveything as gone tits up i was concerned how and why this excellant site for people associated with the box was free and easy to take what they want and run. And the access for anybody to know what was going on. I whom are needless to say and not that technically minded at the moment have little to return but would like to contribute in the future.

I see the recent key rolls as an opportunity for learning more about the inner workings of these boxes and what they are capable of doing.I mean would any of us have gone into the software side of things and started to edit the keylist? Not me,and i suspect not many others would either.I,for one,have learnt yet another thing about the workings of a 500c and starview boxes.I now know how to manually edit the keys using the remote,and it's all thanks to this site and the outstanding level of information and help available here.To all the "senior" members who toil behind the scenes to keep the help going i give a massive pat on the back and my heartfelt thanks,without them i would have considered my box dead long ago and probably have binned it.You're all stars.
