DM500 Black Dream DM500-C

Hi everyone, i'm fr S'pore and chanced upon this community while searching for a solution for my little black box. Well i must say the support given by some of u guys (egespan) are simply fantastic.

Now here comes my problem. Why my box is so different fr the rest where they have Ethernet and USB port.Mine only comes with a serial port.It started to fail after 9 months and my kids are screaming for their cartoon channels.Out of desperation i did a master reset and now all i'm left is 18 chs. Used to have 120 chs.

I don't now what version i'm having but when i bootup i see a Sin2009 image.Tried to punch in some keys i found fr the web but it didn't work.

Would appreciate any little help rendered,Cheers!

Dear Harky, thanks for even trying to help.here u go...

a master reset deletes the emu and cam these need to be reinstalled
if you know anybody with a working box you can copy the image from their box and load onto yours using dreamup
or else look for a working image on the web
or learn what cam you need and how to install

As shown with your picture, that is not a Dreambox clone or original DM500C. It is a modify version of dm900cii which run without AUcard. Product from China.

Hey, thanks for the info sharing and advise.Hmmm.....seems complicated and probably time consuming. Sigh....

does it required a card to be slotted in ?
My guess yours is a DM900C box.
If suddenly non free to air channels became black then most probably that card expired(your supplier pre-set expiry timer)
so try getting a non "timed" card.

Well it didn't go black but it only has 18 chs left.

Can any kind soul here confirm mine is a DM900C? Are there any suitable images/flash/whatsoever i may use to bring it back alive?

From the picture you posted, the pcb board reads that it is a dm900 probably put into a 500 case, so have a read of this thread!!

seems like i've to get another new box for my kids.so far no solution to my problem yet. Anyone in S'pore selling a hassle free box pls kindly pm me. Thanks everyone for the given advice!
