DB 800 hd clone rebooting issue

Dear All.

I have a dreambox 800 hd clone belongs to my manager :S
he asked me to fix it after the image was damaged, first i don't know what is its clone version, anyway i flashed it through dreamup and tried a lot of images with even a very old bootloaders like #60 just to make sure it's comaptiable with such bootloaders, the problem now that the device is keeping on restarting in the begining of the booting process.

1. dream multimedia logo on the oled screen
2. dream multimedia dhcp & laplaplaaaaa "flash/vmlinux.gz"
3. Dream multimedia booting (progress of 15% of the booting bar only!)
4. back to step 1

Do you have any ideas about the reason of such problem?!!!
Please help me guys, my personal career is in danger now :S

:S, i went to one of the dreambox shops and he gave me
an image and told me it should work on any clone box, but the problem still exist, it could be the Flash ROM "faulty"
What do you think?

hello

no is not hot inside or outside is normal warm, but it keeps reboting.. i have flashed so many images but still keeps rebooting. i have tried with serial cable and via web browser.

but keeps rebooting

i toked the sim from another working 800 hd an tried in the rebboting one but still keeps rebooting i also toked the turner from the other dreambox and tried but no luck. stills rebooting..

Try to re-image with a latest one to test first.

I had exactly the same problem which I have managed to fix.
After a few splashscreens the box would reboot. Tried re-flashing with different images etc still same problem. I guessed it was something to do with power fluctuation when the tuner was engaged.

As 2 previous bits of hardware I own (sky satellite box and panasonic HDD recorder) both had problems but were sorted by changing power capacitors I looked at the ones in the DM800.
Clones often use poor quality components.
There were 2 with bulging tops -(in the bank of 4 largest ones next to card reader) and the little one next to it - a sure sign they are on the way out or blown. Changed these (5 pounds from RS spares), re-flashed and its all working.

Not a difficult fix but you will need a soldering iron and especially a solder sucker to remove the old ones.
