dream 500c and code input ?

hi guys i have just got a dream 500c on wednesday and was in the process of setting it up when the s**t hit the fan so to speak.i have dk image on i think i have disabled autoupdate in var/keys folder by changing the { 2 } to { 0 }
but i did not have any keys in my var/keys folder so i have put in
N 5401 00 ************** ;
N 5401 01 ************** ;
latest codes and saved but no joy!!!!
as i am new to this box any help will be great.

If you have no keys in the keys folder then it doesnt matter what you do, it wont work. Are you saying the keys folder is empty ???

If so then you can get the files you need in the 1st post of the thread below, its a rapidshare file and it explains what you need to do with it in the 1st post.

Then restart your box and then go edit the keylist.txt file.

no nothing after the ; but when i rebooted the box and held down the info button the cam menu came up and i restarted the evocam and every thing ok now but i still would like to know how to edit key as when i use tuxcommander on tv i can not see how to edit key

then button 3
scroll down on left column to keylist.txt
then press button 4
should then highlight them select which line and press ok
then you can move along and change.

reboot

You don't need any plugins cos you can do it with tuxbox commander but there is a plugin to make it slightly easier.

Hi m8, we need more info from you.

what softcam are you using.
did you disable AU or set it to auto.
Was there any other keys
what area are you from ( there are some areas which have not had the keys updated corrctly in keymaster yet)

when i get to the "press 4 button" the box flashes but doesnt respond on screen ,,i've tried all the buttons but i cant highlight the keys to makes the changes .am i missing summut ?

When you scroll down to keylist...do not press enter, just highlight it and press 4, if you enter then press 4 nothing happens.
