If that is the case. I suspect that the internal flash memory is faulty. Hardware problem 了。

I have another working DM800. Can I backup the working one & transfer to this faulty set.
At present, the faulty set canot start. It hang at booting.
I can press the on off switch during startup & get the IP address at this set. Can I telnet in this mod & transfer the working backup file.
              Please advise

You can try but I don't think it will work because the box itself cannot even flash any image now.
If you did a back up from another working box is also an image right?

                  Anyway thanks for your help.

I give up. This set was bought from Shenzhen China.
First one ok, but second set spoil !

This is the DM800 bootloader Web Interface.

If you see this, your box didn't boot to Linux.
Unless you interrupted the boot process, this usually means that you have no valid operating system in flash.
Don't panic! It's not a problem. You can just flash a new version and everything will be fine!
Otherwise, you can boot from network or USB.
If you're about to give up, you might get help at the Dream Multimedia Support board!
Currently there aren't many other features...

You can download your current flash contents (64 MB) here, but please don't expect to be able to flash it back. It's merely a debugging feature.
This device's Serial Number is 61662, and was built on 2010/06/29.

Booloader version: Dreambox Second Stage Loader BUILD #75, built 20091005

                  device infofirmware upgrade
                  start flashing... 100.00%

too much data (or bad sectors) in partition 3 (end: 04000000, pos: 04000000)

                    Question;
Are you using Web or NULL modem cable to flash?
Have you ever flash this or others box successfully before?

Try to use Dreamup 1.3.3.2 with the "Extras > recover bad sectors" selected. Hope this can resolve your problem.

In that case, this may be a hardware problem already. You can refer back to your supplier for warranty.
