i have flashed the dreambox 500s. need the Pli or jade 2 image.
has anyone got it.
pluse to get the uk cable channels will i need a file called
CABLES.XML ..

Virgin Media have applied a code update which has crippled cable boxes across the country which were used for receiving cable TV illegally.

Cable boxes affected include the Eurovox, Nokia Dbox, Starview and Kryptview.

Users receiving cable TV illegally receive the error message “Please wait…code been updated” and no channels can be accessed.

According to industry analyst Ian Waller, “The change is causing false keys to be recorded on a ROM7 update, usually only 1 or 2 characters are wrong, this has been happening on ROM10 and ROM11 updates for the last year. A genuine card can handle the change, an emulator can not.”

Virgin Media applied a similar change around a year ago, and it took almost a week for firmware updates for chipped boxes to keep pace.

However, from reports coming in the changes by Virgin may not be a simple one off event, but instead being applied on a daily basis.

Although updates are available on the internet which try to keep track of the changes, if the code changes are being implemented on a daily basis this could make it very difficult for firmware updates to keep track.

The result would be a victory for Virgin in their battle against cable piracy, and an end to the widespread use of cable boxes for receiving illegal free cable TV.
On another note, Virgin is preparing the launch of Nagra Vision version 3 smart cards to further enhance network security for its Cable TV customers. These new smart cards will increase the encryption capabilities of the existing set top boxes and introduce new features for blocking access to non paying customers and enhanced "On Demand" security. It is rumoured that Virgin is planning to issue all customers with new smart cards as part of a "self install" policy.

The images you want are in DOWNLOADS under dreambox.
You can scan Astra 28.2 sattelite to find channels, you can only
view free chans. To view encrypted chans. you need to download
Ccam 2.13 & get a C/S server

ok to put the ccam 2.1.3 what other image will i need or is it just ccam 2.1.3.. do i put the ccam 2.1.3 in a certain folder in the dreambox or do i just flash the box and chose the ccam 2.1.3 to burn.. to get the astra 28. do i need to download Services and Bouquets to scan the astra channels

you need to do a lot more reading m8, sat does not work the same as cable did.

i know some one whos got a eagle 1000 using on sky dish, and gating all the channels for free.. why not with the dreambox..

He's either bought a pre configed box or is using hin own cline either way he didn't just flash plug in and view premium channels.

how do i pre configer my dreambox to get SAT... i know i have to flash it first.. is Gemini image ok for Sat, whats the best image for sat.. then i know i have to download Ccam by conecting me box to the net.. is Ccam 2.13 ok or will i have to download Ccam 4.0..
then will i have to edit the existing Config file and replace it with the new one...
am i on the right trck so far....

I prefer DK1.1 or PLI-JADE images, they are clone-safe.
After flashing image to box, install Ccam 2.13, I think it's Ccam
in var/bin & Ccam/conf. in var/etc. If you install Ccam from net
it will auto-install files in correct folders. Select Ccam 2.13 as
default cam.
To scan chans. go to auto-scan, select single-sattelite,
scroll thru listings & select Astra 28.2
To view encrypted channels you enter c-line in Ccam/cfg.

the guy i know got a box of someone. all he did was connect it to his dish and connect it to router with ethernet cable. thats its..
its connected and working, with all SKY channels on his Astra sky DISH..

You should ask your mate what box he has & how much he paid
for it. He probably got a sat box [with gift] which is card-server
paid up front.
You will have to pay a server for a working c-line for your dream
box to clear chans. Unless you know someone who will share their
card details for free.

Card sharing discussion is not allowed on here so you wont get a walkthrough how to do it, search google.
