    DM500 not finding internet

Ok after reading Devilfish's excellent guide on this, I have ended up at a point where I'm lost to why it still won't work.

    My setup:

DM500s connected via switch to router, router picks up the dreambox has it shown as active and will either give it static IP or DHCP will do it, tried both methods.

My settings on the DM are as follows, 192.168.1.69 (currently dhcp)/ 255.255.255.0 / NS and GW are also 192.168.1.254 (router IP) Port 80 (tried 27 as well).

The yellow test button shows network setup is OK, however when going to blue button for addons/download I get cant resolve hostname.

Now the reason this is a problem is I have downloaded a few version of cccam tz files, flashxp'ed them over to the temp file on the DM and tried to install it this way, everytime it fails and there is plenty of space on the DM itself.

So I'm kinda lost, one post I read suggested for a similar problem to just reflash gemini project, then try to manually install cccam again.

    Any thoughts?

Have you ensured that the 'enabled network' box is checked..?

It's very odd to see both the nameserver and gateway IP's the same..

Under Type: have you LAN selected..?

Have you a lot of connections to your router..? or have you allocated the box as 192.168.1.69

If you cannot resolve hostnames, then the issue is with your nameserver settings..

You're using the IP of the router for both the gateway and the nameserver, which is fine (and IS normal) as long as your router has it's primary and secondary nameservers set correctly in order to run DNS lookups (which should connect with your ISP and resolve the hostname) but obviously it's not working...

Personally, I would change your routers nameservers to:
          208.67.222.222
          208.67.220.220

Those are the best known nameservers on the net and should be used in place of your ISP ones imho...

(or just add the 1st to your DM500)

Perfect, that worked like a charm!

            Thanks so much
