SOLUTION TO MOVING YOUR ROUTER OR RUNNING A MILE LONG ETHERNET CABLE AROUND YOUR HOUS

Hello everyone. I may be a bit behind most of you guys when it comes to home tec, but I'm hoping that this may help a few of you at least.

I recently had the challenge of moving my router downstairs and when sizing up the job it seemed almost impossible without having to buy a new router and lots of additional cables. Not to mention all the drilling holes, tacking down cables etc. But I had to do something for the sake of my much loved dreambox and xbox 360. I came across HOMEPLUGS. They basically plug in to a normal socket and they have ethernet ports, so instead of running cables from point A to point B you can just plug one in each end and run an ethernet cable from the plug to the dreambox etc. The homeplugs then convert the information so that it can be transported via the plugs in your wall, then at the other end the signal is re-converted. It's genius. Saves a lot of aggro for the sake of ?40 a pair.

i have loaded the new image but i still get black screen ojn channels but fta channels are Ok so i neet to insert new keys in dreambox i have tryied using the flash XPpro and i get can not connet my box to insert keys can anyone help

Hi alyas, could u help me point to the image u use to restore. Will need it for my dm500c.

As for connectivity problem u facing, believe a simple FTP software can do the trick, google for cuteftp or other light FTP software, no need to use flash XPpro.
Alternatively, there is an plugin called dream box key editor that u can use to edit the keys and save.
