DBOX Getting Caught?!

Hi All,

Ive had a starview and now dreamox for many years but have a question for you if someone could be so kind to answer

Ive always thought that you could only use these say for instance if you have cable internet installed, however my mate has no cable internet or tv package but hooked it up to the deadline and is getting all the channels!

Will the cable company know he is using it with it being a deadline? I know the oxes dont talk back but surely if you have no internet they will see some kind of activity???

from what i gather if they test the line and see data moving then they would become a bit suss, however i dont believe they'd do this as a matter of course

i think its always best to have at least base tv package or broadband tho, if only to keep the line connected as you never know when they may switch it off at the green box!

They can detect you but they don't have the manpower to have engineers sitting at green boxes in the street hoping that someone connects a dodgy piece of kit.
