    HD for Dreambox

    Hi,

I've had a look about the forums for info on whether there is an HD option for the dreambox. I've seen the DM 800 mentioned.

Does anyone on here have one and do they recommend it? How many channels in HD are currently available?

    Cheers,

agreed, with just BBC HD at the moment its best to wait a while and they will get cheaper as well.

I have one of these, and it gives much improved picture quality, however mine has of late developed a bad habit of freezing for a few seconds every half hour or so, funnily this seems to have started when I installed the "Anti-freeze fix" secondsatge bootloader 67 (Great so called fix) all was fine before this!! Now no matter what I do, whatever secondstage bootloader I use bloody annoying freezing all the time.

I would not recommend you buy one of these no matter how much the picture quality is improved or how much HD content Rich shows, until this freezing issue is fixed!

it was ace during the summer when the euro's were in hd.

            what camd are you using?

I was using evo but I had to manual enter k*ys

So i switched to mgcamd which works automatically but pauses now and then for 10-20 seconds.

evocamd worked flawlessly when it works

Thats wierd, evo updates fine (Keys in keylist.txt are up to date with todays date) but will not clear channels.
mgcamd just freezes every few min

              What image are you using?

was using gem 3.6 but the evil power did something, which stopped auto update then i moved to 3.9 which did little help for me, im not a pro at this and have always got my box to work by chance.

I moved up from dm600 when the 800first came out and have always used evocamd, because other sites post k*ys daily and its easy to edit the keylist via ftp.

vm are moving to a better encryption because they will offer all the sky hd channels ie:- movies, sport etc etc these will come on stream about the spring time.
