i take it you have the ip address set up correctly on both your network card in the pc and the dreambox

you'd need something like 192.168.0.5 on your network card and 192.168.0.6 on your dreambox you should then be connection to 192.168.0.6 as the address name in flashfxp.

also what username and password are u using?

ok that looks okay to me, and your entering the 192.168.1.71 into flash fxp?

stupid Qs but you do have your dreambox connected to the mains and powered on, and your also 100% its a crossover cable you have rather than a patch cable

can you do a ping from comp to db

also a tracert would help as well

also a routing table on your comp (route print in command line)

                    def a routing issue here

Connection problems with Flash Fxp and Filezilla

Silly me when i connected to the internet via dbox it was showing the correct Ip Address when the dbox is dis-connected it showed a differant one.

Issue Resolved thanks to all who helped me through this, thanks to Devilfish and the rest of the crew for a top site keep up the good work,

To Stop this from happening in the future:

Install Flash Fxp from this site or FileZilla Client (they are both free software)

Once Installed connect your (pc to router via crossover cable) and (Dbox to router via crossover cable) yes this means you need 2 crossover cables

                        Flash Fxp

                        Server/URL: (Your Dbox IP)
                        Username: root
                        Passwrod: dreambox
                        Port: (leave blank)

                        FileZilla

Open Site Manager and create a new site
                        Site name make ? ?Dreambox?
Host name is the IP address of the box ?192.168.x.xxx?
                        Port leave blank
                        Server type ? FTP
                        Logontype - Account
                        UserID is ?root?
                        Password is ?dreambox?
                        Account name ?dreambox?

after this hit connect you should now be connected

it is imperative that you make sure all cables are connected securely and that your cables are legit crossover not patch and if you still have problems your typing the wrong Dbox IP

                        Once again thanks and enjoy

if i use a wireless router to get connected to the internet via my laptop, do i still need to connect the laptop to the router via an ethernet cable aswell as connecting the dbox to the router?

You can connect your laptop to router via wireless but the Dbox must be connected vis crossover cable,

If you experience any difficulties then connected the laptop to router one cable and Dbox to router another cable (in all you will need 2 crossover cables)
