Keys Rolling

Keys rolled earlier and picture froze on my dreambox, flicked channels a bit and all came back on - presumably once new key was written.

Is this normal procedure and ive just not noticed it before?

go back to the main dremabox section and their is a thread on a permanent fix for the key roll change

deffo a key change as when i went into keylist.txt the key had updated with the exact time that the picture had frozen

will keep an eye out to see if it does it any more

what kind of timescales are the keys changed on or is it just pretty random?

the keys will always still roll, the update that wass applied just makes your box auto update the keyroll.

Gums the freezing picture followed by it kicking in again will normally be a keyroll unless you have signal problems.

Some issue today during the football as well.

a few days ago i awoke to it off....new keys from the great keymaster....but i had to a)put them in everytime they rolled and b)it took at least 40mins for new ones..whilst this is ok its not so good if its during a live broadcast!....

then we had the rom7 update that enabled me to wake up and enjoy the tv again!....

both of these fixes were made avaliable within hours of VM changing the keyroll system to what i believe is `twice aday` now.....late in the evening and normally 2-3.30pm during the day....you will get a small `freeze`...as the keysroll.`

either way you look at it the responce time to VM`s move was almost instant here and shows we have some talented helpful people resident!....so big big big thanks to them.

and big thanks to the admins for keeping up with all these `it dont work?` threads.....thanks for your time.

if this update (rom7) works then how come for the 500s we cannot have the same system then can decode all from sly?....(on the 500s using 28e slyuk can only get my paid chans!!!)

yeah thats right, there was a bit of jumping this afternoon,but as I used my technomate to watch the football it was not much of a issue, Interesting enough watching movies over the weekend on my dreambox autorolling could be noticed more frequently than normal with that quick flash and slight pause on screen, I thought it was just me, as I am currently upgrading my hardware and rewiring.

Glad now it not just me.
