How is it different to someone selling cloned 500's as genuine boxes with a copy of the Kaos image pre-installed?

For some people it might be the only way to get there boxes working. Many people will not look at forums like this as they think we look too technical. They are used to ebay so feel safe using it.

Many things are sold on ebay you can get for free on the net. I remember a couple of years ago we had the same sort of thing on a car forum I used at the time. We had a free to download "how to fix your car" guide. It was for sale on ebay in no time - I think it still is.
