Bro here will not know the password your supplier have set. This is not by default.

Just like will all bro here know whats your ATM pin no??? Simple as that.

I hv the same problem , with the help from the follow member 'Badapple' it solved my problem, u may try this which given by badapple:

Open Dreambox Control Centre.
Click on FTP
Goto /var/tuxbox/config/enigma
There you should find a file named ***8220;config***8221;
Right click on it
Click on View, then on Edit and on Search and paste this Line:-
i:/elitedvb/pins/setuplock=
At the end of this Line, you will find different numbers/letters
Example:-
i:/elitedvb/pins/setuplock=000001cf
The value 000001cf is in HEX and should be converted to Decimal
In this example, HEX 000001cf is equivalent to DEC 463
So here the Set-Up Lock PIN is 0463
Note that your Set-Up Lock PIN will always have four digits.

This will not work if they (seller) change the ftp password too. Died end.

try 0786, it works for me, i have attached password switcher, if your default password is is not dreambox then it will reset it to dreambox, you have to install this plugin

How you install the plug-in if you don't even the initial password. And moreover cannot access internet to do download.

why dont you flash another image using dreamup? by using dreamup, you don't even need any pin, user or password.

where to get the image? any image which dm500C is using can be used.

if you have friend using the dm500C, ask them to backup their image and send to you. use this image and flash using dreamup.

Maybe you can try 0000 to 9999 and it will work with some patience :P

it is asking me user name and password.

By default, username: root and password: dreambox. If u cannot access yr box with default password, yr box is lock and reflashing new image with dreamup will reset it to default password.

if i try to access the dreambox by putting the ip in my pc web browser, will the user name and password requested be the defaults (root:dreambox) if i have used password switcher?
