    DM800SE-HD/Virgin Media/CS

    Hello,
    I hope someone can help/offer further insight into my dilemma... firstly please let me explain my current circumstances;

    I'm looking to buy a Dreambox DM800SE-HD (with both DVB-C/S tuners) from a local UK supplier to use with my Virgin Media XL cable sub. After moving house in 6 months I'll be ditching Virgin to sign up to Sky (will install DVB-S tuner after the Sky sub is up and running).

    Having researched this (and other) forums I understand I won't be able to watch my Virgin sub via the Dreambox because N3 will prevent channels from being decoded. Assuming this is true, can card sharing be setup to decode my 'subbed' channels?

    If so, here's the thing - as mentioned above I'll be moving house in 6 months and, until I sign up to Sky don't want to card share via a public server - just want to view my own Virgin sub via the Dreambox so I can stream channels to my laptop - will card sharing help me to do this? I'm aware I can stream channels using a TV tuner/Slingbox setup but, well, am willing to pay a little more if the Dreambox can also do this (and other) things.

    Can a CAM client/server (cccam, newcas, et al) be 'pointed' at itself therefore allowing subbed channels to be decoded (i.e. via some kind of localhost config)?
    Or would I need to purchase a second Dreambox and card share via LAN?

    Hope that all makes sense - sorry for all the questions, I hope to find answers so I can justify buying a Dreambox. Am new to this scene so please go easy! :-)

    you can set up dreambox to decode channs. with VM card. You
    can then stream channs to your laptop or use DM500c or other
    similiar box to share with dreambox. There's a bit of reading-up
    involved regarding RSA & box keys, and streaming from dream
    to PC.

      Hi there,
      Does anyone know of a way to put VM Onto a PC through a DVB-C Card with CAMS Etc with proper subscription card?
      I would love to have it working through my mediacetner rather than through the rubish V+ Box.
      I bought a floppyDTV DVB-C Card ages ago but not used it
