hi, i dont have a cross over ethernet cable? at the minute. have just put on dk 1.1 image with null modem cable. can the latest key file be put on to 500c with the null modem cable.

I had the same probs... bought a null modem only find I couldnt FTP files and fixes across without a ethernet cross over cable
THEN... I found out if you have a normal ethernet cable(straight wired) and a router you can connect your box with the normal ethernet cable to the router and set the box to DCHP you can connect to it from your pc and FTP to it (I used FILEZILLA for this)
This is probably mentioned on the forum already somewhere but thought It give you hope mentioning it here incase ye miss itComment

if you have a router plug that into your Db with an ethernet cable and you can connect to the db using an ftp program?

thanks for that. the telephone connection and router are nowhere near the the tv and box, so its abit arkward. have just ordered a crossover from ebay. will have a look at manually updating till i get that delivered.
what can u get to have the 500c wirelessly connected to my network. i know wireless key fobs have usb connections. is there something that have the cable connection on it?Comment

you can get a 10m ethernet cable for around a ?5, seen 30m ones for around a ?10. so could go that way just for the quick fix now and again!!
