    Keylist.txt - doesnt create / refresh after a fresh flashed image

    Hi Guys

    After I had to reflash my box with dkv1.1 image and upload the keys folder and the new rom fix to \scce from the latest nagrarom auto update fix, my keylist.txt does not update or recreate itself after renaming it to keylist.old.
    My mg_cfg file is set to A: { 02 }. Do you guys have any ideas what my problem is. My box was working fine until I had to reflash it, cos of a dodgy skin.

    Many Thanks

    Its nice to see a question asked and a lot of info given to help solve it.

    Only thing I can see which is wrong from your info is:

    Keylist and mg_cfg, they are not related.

    You need to check that AU is at {02} in camd_cfg

    Evocamd= keylist and camd_cfg
    Mgcamd= softcam and mg_cfg

    Not saying thats what your problem is though but just pointing out a mistake.

        Why name it keylist.old?just delete it and it will recreate its self on reboot,when it collects the keys.
        Checkout the RED stickies massive amount of info and effort been put into them.

          Actually, I don't think it will create the file. You need to create an empty one and make sure the file attributes are set correctly [644].

            it has the correct permissions and the size is 0 bytes. It might be easier to start again. Is this the correct order:

            Flash box with dk v1.1 image
            copy the keys (from dreambox_stuff.rar) to var/keys
            copy the roms (from new_roms.rar) to var/scce

              Shouldn't need to keep reflashing. I think the upper/lower case of the filename matters [might be wrong] It should be Keylist [ie capital K].

                The file is named Keylist.txt (capital K). Maybe I should flash from dk v1.0 and upgrade it to v1.1 then upload the files.

                  Before that - try one more thing. Change AU option in the config file to AU {01} then restart the cam

                          Log in via ftp and edit the file, or download tuxcommander onto your box and edit it that way.

                            How exactly do you do it through tuxcommander though?

                            I took into account that it could be edited on pc and reloaded through FTP... but as Im on a learning rampage and trying to sweep aside the simple things too. Ive been viewing files using tux commander on my 500c and I can view and scroll through the text files but how do you actually get the cursor to appear that lets you edit stuff??

                            Im aware of the short cut keys at the bottom of tux like rename and edit but none seem to do anything whilst Im viewing stuff

                              Hi Sirus,

                              You cannot view a file easily using ftp, you need to telnet from a dos prompt
                              to your dream box eg telnet 192.167.1.4 then cd ../.. to get to root then cd /var/keys then type in more camd_cfg you should then see a list of the contents of the file. If more does not work try the comand pg instead.

                              you can then use vi (which is a text editor for unix) back up the file first.
                              If your not familiar with vi search the web before editing its not very friendly.

                              Regards
