Based on what I read here, it seems that the usual recommendation to recover FTP login details is to use TUX Commander; yet to do so requires the downloading of a menu which everyone says requires the FTP login details to begin with.
That seems to be a rather circular problem.
How do I tell if "downloads" have been blocked on the box? I could access the item (ie it doesn't come up with an menu error) but only says I can't connect to downloads.pli-images.org [127.0.0.0]. Is the FTP login/pass required for such a connection? Or is it really a DNS resolution problem or otherwise, some internet connection problem (maybe my box isn't connected to the internet as it should have been).
