    Help please Back up Problem??

Guys I did a back up of my working Kaos 1.1 image via the built in script and then ftp'd the image to my desk top. I then rar'd the .image up and e-mailed to my mate who has yet to fix the AU problem.

I have now found that when my friend wrote the back up image to his box it has no roms in it despite being from a fully AU (working) DM500,

Is this a design of the back up script in the Kaos panel deliberately not including the roms etc. or have I done something wrong??

    Thanks for any help

Rmember when you backup through the box the file is a .img file. This can only be flashed using dreamup and a null modem.

If you want to flash with flash wizarzd then backup the image up with that program as the .img file is too large for flash wizard to flash.

And remeber when flashing with dreamup click no to flash erase or else you will lose the roms etc.

        Hope this helps guys.

Remember if you are flashing a backup image using Dreamup, select NO when it asks if you want to 'Perform a flash-erase during the process'.

If it does 'Perform a flash-erase during the process' it will erase all your services and bouquets, keys and scce files. So it will be as if you are flashing a raw image.

When the image is created, the /var folder is left empty, all the files are placed in /var_init. When dreamup does a flash-erase, everything in /var is deleted and everything in /var_init is copied to /var. So...all you backup data will be lost and if the image is a FTA image you won't get jack-sh!t!
